The day started with the girls getting hair and makeup done at a nearby hotel while the guys had a cook out at the marina. They made their way over to SLCC by way of their boat and Matt waited patiently for his bride to arrive!

I love first looks and the time that the bride and groom get to spend together before the wedding ceremony. This time was no exception as Matt and Jen were so laid back and fun to work with! The wedding party was great (Thanks Josh for being a good sport!) and a blast to be around! Thank you!

The day was perfect and flawless and the message during their ceremony was right on. I love having loving reminders of what a Godly marriage is and it is great that I get to do that as part of my job!

After the ceremony we headed out onto Spring Lake for a nice little cruise around. That part of my job isn’t too shabby either.

A special thank you to my buddy, Katie DeWinter. We make an awesome team and I love having her there with me. So excited to be working with her this summer.

Nate’s family has a cottage right on the shores of Lake Michigan that we were able to spend some time at. Anyone who knows me, knows how much I love the lakeshore. I could spend hours there every single day. I didn’t want to leave! Nate and his family grew up going to this cottage (and one a few down) so there are a lot of special memories there. It was THE most perfect evening. The light was beautiful, the lake was calm, and the temps were comfortable. It was an evening spent at a special place and with a special couple.

I would like to congratulate Kelly. She graduates from MSU Grad school this week! What an accomplishment!

Clark and Leah got married April 14, 2012 at Third Reformed Church in Holland. What a beautiful place and a beautiful day! The weather ended up cooperating with us despite a gloomy forecast but had it rained, I have a feeling that wouldn’t have damped the mood! These families have been waiting for this day to come and you could just feel the joy all around!

Clark and Leah met here in Michigan after some help from Leah’s parents. There was this nice fella that was going to their church that just spelled “future son in law” all over him. After some time,Clark and Leah met, fell in love, moved to Washington DC to work, and now are starting their life together. I love the way that Clark and Leah make each other laugh. It was one of my favorite parts of their wedding…just watching them together. I also had fun catching up with old friends as I have known this family for a good part of my life!

So thank you, Leah and Clark for inviting me to share in your special day! I wish you two a very beautiful, happy, and healthy marriage!

When Lantson and I were talking about where to do their engagement session he told me that they really didn’t care where we took them. Music to my ever lovin ears. He told me that they were doing a vintage style wedding so something to go along those lines. Well, Lanston loves to fish and hunt and Lindsey loves Lantson so I thought that something along those lines would be appropriate!

One of the things I decided to do was participate in a styled photo shoot out in the Valley of Fire. Winters can be long in Michigan and I love any excuse I can find to head out into the mountains and shoot in a new place!

The event was fun. There were a lot of  great photographers that I had the pleasure of working beside and we developed some really great friendships! As always, you get a group of 15+ photographers and it can get a little paparazzi style but overall, the experience was fun and I am glad that I did it.

I quickly learned that Freddie doesn’t like to be called “cute” but I just couldn’t help telling them both how cute they are! And, I quickly realized just how many times I say  the word, cute. It didn’t help that every time I called them cute, Freddie would give me this big smile. So, I’ll try to cut down on the “cutes” for their wedding day… I just need to come up with a different word. Suggestions?

I am sure that Jill and Freddie are going to have a gorgeous wedding in July and I honestly can’t wait to be a part of it.
